Who the studio is for
Lightwell Studio is designed for practitioners who need a materials‑friendly therapy room — especially arts therapists, play therapists, and others whose work involves movement, imagination, or creative exploration.
I’m happy to hear from talking therapists too, but the priority is supporting work that can’t easily happen in a standard clinic room.
Regular weekly slots for practitioners
Lightwell Studio is available primarily through regular weekly bookings. The intention is to keep the space consistent and predictable for both practitioners and the wider building.
Regular weekly slots (4.5 hours)
- 7:00–11:30
- 11:45–16:15
- 16:30–21:00
Cost (per slot, per week)
- Standard: £30
- Intro rate: £20 for the first 3 months, then £25 for the next 6 months
- Discount cap: discounted rates apply to up to three slots per week (equivalent to one day).
What’s included: use of the studio’s equipment and core creative resources, including art/craft materials and consumables for session work.
The introductory rates are part of the Hastings Commons ethos of supporting new and growing local practice — making it a little easier to get established, while building a steady, community-minded group of practitioners.
Ad hoc bookings are possible only occasionally, where there’s a clear fit and availability.
Wider Community
Because the studio sits within a wider community building run by Hastings Commons, practitioners also need to be approved by Hastings Commons. You don’t need to share lots of detail on first contact — but it helps to know the ethos is community-rooted.
Practical Expectations
- Booked time is exclusive use of the room (on a non‑exclusive licence.)
- Practitioners are responsible for their own professional indemnity + public liability insurance, and their own client work (agreements, records, safeguarding, confidentiality)
- Regular hirers have the option of lockable storage, and everyone resets the room ready for the next use
